Microblading Eyebrows

How does the appointment process work?

Microblading is a two-step treatment, consisting of an initial procedure and then a touch up four to six weeks after. First, a topical anaesthetic will be applied to ensure comfort. We then take your before photo, shape your eyebrows and decide on the colour together. After you love the shape and colour, we begin. The actual Microblading procedure only takes approx. 45 minutes. We also use secondary numbing products throughout the procedure to minimize discomfort. 90% of our clients fall asleep and all are surprised that it not at all as painful as they imagined. During healing, it’s normal to experience some pigment loss, this is why we have the touch up in place (see he "What to expect after my appointment" question below). It is the clients' responsibility to contact Mirror Mirror Studio to arrange a suitable time for the touch up appointment. The process is considered to be complete 6 weeks after the touch up. As skin differs form person to person, in some cases a third touch up may be neccesary.

What is Microblading?

Microblading, also known as eyebrow embroidery, microstroking, featherstroke, and hairstroke tattoo, is a manual brow tattooing method, a type of permanent cosmetic tattooing. With Microblading, the thinnest hair strokes are created with pigment (special ink) using a hand held disposable tool and sterile microneedles, NOT a tattoo machine. The pigment is deposited beneath the surface of the upper layer of the skin, which makes the hair strokes appear very realistic. Microblading is considered a corrective brow enhancement. The goal of Microblading is to create a very natural looking brow. This technique may not eliminate the need for brow make-up, depending on your desired look. If you which to have more of a make-up looking brow, we have other options for you, including adding Microshading to the Microblading or we can use a specialised Permanent Make Up device to create a stunning and soft Ombre (Light to Dark gradient) brow, also known as the Powdered brow or even create hairstrokes with the machine, which is advised especially if you have oilier skin.

How long does the appointment take?

The first appointment takes approximately 2hours 30minutes, sometimes more sometimes less, we don't want to rush the process. If Microshading is added please allow for an additional 30minutes. Your second appointment will be much faster as we will follow the existing strokes and fill where need be. Allow 1 hour and 30 minutes for this appointment.

Can anyone have Microblading done?

Unfortunately, Microblading is not for everyone. Please read the contra-indications below carefully regarding your Medical History, medication etc. If any of the below applies, it does not necessarily mean we cannot proceed, it just means we need to discuss it with you first.

If you have a different medical condition/allergy not listed above, and you are unsure if it will affect the procedure, please contact us before confirming your appointment.

Please also read the section below regarding how to prepare for your appointment to ensure maximum pigment retention. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Even if none of the above apply, Microblading cannot be guaranteed. This is a cosmetic tattooing procedure, the skin can be unpredictable, it is up to your skin to retain the pigment. Generally, results are successful, however, due to skin type, healing or bleeding during procedure, some results can differ.

How do you choose the shape of the eyebrow?

We discuss a shape and style together based on your face shape and preferred look. At the beginning of the procedure we will draw in a suggested shape for your new brows over your existing brows and then we work together to perfect this to your preference. Our face is not symmetrical when comparing one side to the other, therefor measurements are taken to check symmetry and placement and manipulate the eye to make them look as even as possible. Your own eyebrow hair is not affected at all. When natural eyebrow hairs fall outside of the drawing we will first discuss this with you to ensure realistc maintenance afterwards.

What happens to my natural eyebrow hair?

Your own eyebrow hair is not affected at all. When natural eyebrow hairs fall outside of the drawing we will first discuss this with you if you are happy to continue tweezing/waxing them in future or if we must alter the draeing to include them. We want to ensure realistc maintenance afterwards.

What if I don't have any natural eyebrow hair left?

This is not a problem at all. In fact, many of our clients suffer from over-plucked brows that just never grew back. Microblading is perfect to create the illusion of hair, where there isn't any left.

Does Microblading hurt?

Our clients are all pleasantly surprised that it was way less uncomfortable that they initially expected and 95% actually fall asleep once we have added the secondary numbing.
With that said, pain threshold levels vary from person to person. It is a slightly uncomfortable procedure, but worth it! We use a numbing gel throughout the procedure to help you remain comfortable. There are a few factors that may affect the discomfort felt on the day:
- Having this service performed during or right before your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort.
- Drinking caffeine before your appointment (on the same day) may increase skin sensitivity. - Tweezing/waxing/threading a day or two before your appointment may increase skin sensitivity. - If you are a frequent smoker, the topical anesthetics used during the treatment might not last as long, but we will continually numb right up until the end. - If you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivity. - If you generally have a very low tolerance for pain, please contact us to discuss.

How long does Microblading last?

With that said, Microblading is considered a semi-permanent brow procedure that can last about 6 to 24 months. The pigments are designed to gently fade over time. Microblading is an art, NOT a science, skin will always be unpredictable and client results will vary from person to person. Although it is effective and can last up to 36 months in some cases, no guarantee can be made about the length of time they will last. Retention depends on your age, skin type, texture, oiliness, medication, medical conditions, lifestyle and aftercare. Most clients will need 12-18 month touch-ups/colour boosts, but results will vary from person to person. Smoking and medication may also affect the retention.

What will I look like immediately after the procedure?

Your brows may be a slightly red, slightly swollen and you may have a very fine white 'halo' effect around the brows where the numbing ointment is still active - this will subside in aand hour or so. They will be considerably darker for the first week before they begin to fade out to a softer colour. Strokes will also be more crisp initially and once settled into the skin they will soften. We provide a more comprehensive guide when you have booked your appointment.

How often do I need a touch-up?

Touch ups can be done every six months to a year to keep the colour fresh and the strokes crisp. Each person's skin has a different level of retention, please read our question above, "Can anyone have Microblading done?" as well as "How long does Microblading last?" for more detail.

Do I need to take a day off work?

Not at all! There’s no downtime associated with the treatment. Redness will dissipate within an hour or so after. Your brows will appear darker initially, but not so dark that you will be prevented from your activities of daily living.

How long does it take to heal?

Healing time varies from individual to individual. Usually, it takes about a week to ten days for the epithelial crust to form and slough off. Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. Then, the pigment takes some time to settle into the skin. 4-6 weeks should pass before we consider the process complete and touch-ups are allowed.

Does everyone need a touch-up?

To reiterate, Microblading is considered a two-step procedure. For the most part, everyone will need a touch-up or perfection appointment. Book your touch-up/perfecting appointment no sooner than 4 weeks after your initial Microblading appointment and no later than 8 weeks. Please note again that everyone’s skin is different and will experience different results with this cosmetic tattooing procedure when it comes to retention. Additional touch-ups may be necessary dependent on your skin type and various factors mentioned above. If additional touch-ups are needed, there will be a charge. If you wait past the 8 week mark for your first touch-up, there will be a higher charge. There will be no exceptions. **Clients are responsible for booking their own touch-ups**

Will they fade?

Your body’s skin changes over time and so will any pigment implanted into the layers of the skin. Although the procedure is considered semi-permanent, these procedures do have flexibility in changing colour to some extent. Colours will appear much darker immediately following the procedure but will often soften and lighten during the healing process. There may also be areas on the brow that fade quicker than others, this is dependant on your skin type, hairgrowth and the side you sleep on amongst other life-style based factors.

Are there any side effects during or after the procedure?

During the procedure, there may be some minor bleeding. This will depend on the client. If a person is taking blood thinners or other medication on a daily basis, then some slight bleeding may occur. Bruising is rare but if a person is on blood thinners, then bruising could occur. There is usually slight tenderness for a few days. The colour is much darker than you may expect for the few days. Please note that this is a guideline and there are always exceptions.

What if I don't like it?

There are several things we can do. Your eyebrows can be modified to a point. A good technician will work with you until you are satisfied with your results.

I have old Permanent Make-Up on my brows, will this be an issue?

The fine lines created with Microblading might not be visible if your old Permanent Make Up is still very dark and/or discoloured. If it has faded substanially, we may be able to Microblade over it. Alternatively there are other methods, we are also able to re-shape the old brow with the Ombre Brow technique (only if brows arent discoloured to purple/green/blue/grey etc.)
I cases where the old Permanent Make Up has discoloured or is still too dark, we can also assist with Tattoo removal (no laser, no acid-based products, no scarring, no discolouring and suitable for any colour and age of the old tattoo or Permanent Make Up). Please see our FAQ section on tattoo removal for further info.

Will I still have to tweeze or wax my brows afterwards?

Yes, your brows will not be badly affected and your hair will continue to grow. Your maintenance will be a lot easier as you will be able to follow a defined shape.

Will I still need to wear brow make-up?

You might, depending on your desired look. Microblading is meant to enhance your natural brows, creating fine hair like strokes, not a 'coloured-in' brow that we get when adding prow pencil or eyeshadow to the brow. If you prefer a filled in look, YES you will still need make-up to achieve that. Alternatively, we can assist with other brow techniques that will give you a fuller brow look.

What should I do to prepare myself for the appointment?

Below is a preparation guideline that may enhance the retention of your pigment.

If possible, 30 days before your procedure:

-Avoid any treatments such as Botox, Fillers, Fruit, Milk acids, Laser treatment, Chemical Peels, Facials, Dermabrassions, Mesotherapy or any other intense treatment -Avoid heavy sun exposure / sun burn / tan beds (we cannot work on sunburnt skin) -Discontinue use of Vitamin A skin care / Retin-A / Retinol products close to the enhancement area at least two weeks prior to your procedure. **We recommend NOT using these products over or around the brow area after you receive Microblading. It could cause fading and distortion of hair strokes.** -Plan trips or events a minimum of 14 days after the procedure.

1 week before your procedure:

-Stop taking Omega 3 (Fish Oil), B6, Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba, Niacin, St. John’s Wort

(You may resume taking vitamins 72hours after the procedure)

-Do not pick/tweeze/wax/tint the eyebrow area (may make skin a bit more sensitive) -Decide if you wish to have an allergy spot test done and contact us to make an appointment at least 72 hours prior to your appointment. We can test the pigment and numbing cream on top of your skin at the back of your ear to check for a reaction.

72 hours before your procedure:

-Ensure you are in a good health state (no flu, cough or acne on the treatment area etc.) -Avoid alcohol, Aspirin and Ibuprofen from this day until at least 1 day after the treatment -Come for an allergy spot test (if you have decided to do so) -Wash your hair on the night or morning before your appointment as you will need to avoid running water over the face for several days. Baths are recommended.

Very important! On the day of your procedure:

-Avoid smoking, caffeine, pain relief medication and exercise prior to your appointment -For eyebrows, you may apply make up as you normally would so we can take into consideration the shape you desire or if you don’t have an ideal shape and colour in mind we will provide our suggestion. Feel free to send us reference photos prior to the appointment that we can try incorporate if possible. Remember that each face differs in size and shape, and although we will try our utmost best to give you your ideal look, this may not be possible as it may not suit your face.

What should I do after the procedure? ***Please read this thoroughly***

Healing can be a very frustrating process for some. Everyone's skin is different. Although eyebrow Microblading is effective in most cases, no guarantee can be made that everyone will benefit from the procedure. Microblading heals about 30-50% lighter than the initial service. If you have very dark hair please know the pigment may heal lighter than your natural hair colou, in this case we might siggest a different technique. Generally, the results are excellent but it very much depends on your skin texture, oiliness, and aftercare. There are many factors that could affect your healing.
Your new Microbladed eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle: FIRST- The pigment will appear very sharp and dark immediately after the procedure. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin, and has not yet settled in completely. Your brow area may be slightly swollen and your brows may look/feel slightly larger. While some are okay with this, some have a very hard time - Just breathe, give it time and trust the process. NEXT – The colour of the pigment will soften gradually, for some, the pigment may seem to disappear. Again, just breathe and trust the process. Do not be alarmed if you see some pigment on the cotton swab, as this is excess pigment and/or lymph exiting the skin. Once the healing of the skin starts taking place, it will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. This might give you the impression that the colour pigment is fading too quickly, however, this is just superficial colour and dry skin being naturally sloughed from your eyebrows. Your brows may develop some undesirable scabbing. DO NOT PICK! We cannot stress this enough, DO NOT PICK. AFTERCARE – Although we will give you a thorough aftercare form with strict instructions for you to follow, we want to mention a few things here, so you are prepared. Your brows cannot get wet for the first week of healing (no water – sink, shower, pool, ocean- no sweat, steam, no moisture at all). You will be spending a lot more time washing your face for the first week. You’ll be washing your face with cotton wipes, pads, or washcloths, very carefully for the first 7 days. You are not to apply make-up to your brows until they are completely healed – at least 10days. Once completely healed (at the 4 week mark), we recommend applying a layer of sunscreen (SPF 30 up to SPF 50) on your eyebrows when exposed to the sun. Sun exposure might cause the pigment to fade quickly. *Plan accordingly, please allow at the very least a week if you have an event or special occasion coming up! If you plan on going on holiday, it may be better to arrange your appointment for after.

I have old Permanent Make Up on my brows, what are my options?

We can assist with a variety of solutions, but we would need to first see clear photos of your brows to analyze what the best way forward would be. In some cases we are able to re-shape or keep your shape and just refresh the colour. If the brows are still dark or have discoloured, we may need to first do a corrective procedure either with pigment or with Tattoo Removal. See our section on removal for full details.

Microneedling for skin

What is Microneedling?

Also knows as Collagen Induction Therapy, Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment to rejuvenate the skin. A device with fine needles creates tiny micro channels in the top layers of the skin, which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin. Results include improved texture and firmness, as well as a reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks. In addition to this, we will use specialised serums that now have direct access to the deeper layers of the skin and can more efficiently address skin problems such as Pigmentation (freckles/dark spots).
It is also used to treat the neck and upper chest area, as well as body scars (C-Section, Stretchmarks etc.) and hairloss / hair thinning in males and females.

Initially you can expect to start seeing results from 10 days after the treatment which will continue for a period of 3 months post treatment. From there, the natural Collagen which has now been built up will continue to firm the skin for up to 12months. We recommend an average of 4-6 sessions.

We perform micro-needling treatments using a Microneedling Pen. This is a professional facial procedure to achieve immediate and visible skin rejuvenation and renewal with long lasting effects. Numbing ointment is also used prior to alleviate any potential discomfort.

All you need to know about Microneedling:

As each fine needle punctures the skin, it creates a channel or micro-wound. The controlled injury triggers the body to remould the skin by activating the body’s wound healing cascade (homeostasis-inflammation-proliferation-tissue remodelling) as well as allows ingredients to penetrate better and improve the look and feel of skin over time. The micro injuries trigger the body to fill these micro-wounds by producing new collagen and elastin in the papillary dermis. In addition, new capillaries are formed. This neovascularisation and neocollagenesis following treatment leads to improvement in skin texture, firmness and hydration, as well as reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks. With the right roller/pen and transdermal solution it will be effective on most areas of the body. DERMAROLLERS Dermarollers resemble small paint rollers you would use to get into tight spots. They act as miniature aerators, like something you’d use on your lawn. They have a round, rotating cylinder with at least 200 tiny needles protruding from it, and a handle for moving it around your face. And that’s exactly what you’re supposed to do with it: You roll this quasi-aerator over your skin with some amount of pressure, puncturing hundreds of tiny holes along the way. DERMAPENS Dermapens look exactly like a pen, with a circular head studded with tiny needles. The head and needles are motorized. The motor-driven needles move in and out of the skin in a stamping motion, piercing it with thousands of tiny punctures. Dermastamps resemble Dermapens but have a larger head with more needles protruding from the device. DERMASTAMPS Dermastamps may be motorized or manual, and work exactly as the name implies: Rather than rolling needles over the skin or being moved over skin by a motor, you stamp the needles into skin. It’s a bit like a tattooing machine, but with many needles puncturing skin all at once rather than a single needle (and obviously minus the ink deposit).

What are the benefits?

Uses your body’s own natural regenerative abilities and is therefore considered as a natural antiaging treatment. -Visibly tightens, lifts and rejuvenates skin. -Increases absorption of topical skin care products. -Reduces the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles. -Reduces the appearance of acne scarring and stretch marks -Unprecedented results with no recovery time.

How does microneedling achieve results in the skin?

Microneedling achieves results through increased quantities of cell nutrients introduced via cosmeceutical and/or pharmaceutical solutions to the skin through the available channels, thus optimising cell function. This allows for much better penetration than with a topical application thus improving the natural stimulation of collagen. In addition, injury to the keratinocytes promotes epidermal growth factors and increases cell turnover.

Why is microneedling an ideal skin rejuvenation treatment?

Microneedling is the only skin rejuvenation treatment that maximises penetration of essential cell nutrients and maximises release of growth factors. It is a highly effective skin rejuvenation option as it targets 3 key cells in the rejuvenation process ie keratinocytes, melanocytes and fibroblasts whilst preserving the integrity of the epidermis. It eliminates the risk of melanocyte heat injury and actually optimises cell function, making it the ideal treatment for all skin conditions.

Why is microneedling safe and effective?

• Strict professional treatment protocols to ensure hygiene, safety and efficacy
• Contractual agreement between supplier and salon to adhere to all protocol
• Informed consent signed by each client undergoing microneedling treatment
• Thorough consultation procedure ensures client suitability for treatment
• Treatment records are kept to ensure correct parameters are followed
• BioMedical Emporium and NanoSkin support products for homecare can be provided in a complete system to ensure optimum results

What are the effects on epidermis?

Micro-inury to the keratinocytes leads to release of several growth factors that leads to epidermal thickening and upregulation of cell function. Cellular communication between keratinocytes and melanocytes is improved which results in better distribution of melanin pigment. Increased delivery of the right ingredients to the depth of the keratinocytes and melanocytes.

Permanent Make Up (Lips, Eyeliner, Brows)

Lash Lift & Tint

What is a Lash Lift?

A Lash Lift is an advancement on the old fashioned “lash-perm”. Unlike the perming rods used in the past, new specially created silicone pads life the lashes from the root only, creating a subtle, natural looking lift, giving the illusion of length and making the eyes appear more open. This is a great alternative for clients who aren’t prepared for the maintenance of eyelash extensions, and want a long lasting alternative.

Can a Lash Lift be used to compliment other treatments?

Definitely. A lash Lift is enhanced when you use an eyelash growth product, such as RapidLash, MD Lash Factor & Max Lash growth serum. While your lashes grow longer, the process controls straight or overly curly lashes by giving them a uniform lifted look. The lashes can also be tinted in order to achieve an even more dramatic look.

Is a Lash Lift the same as an eyelash perm?

No. the Lash lift is a new, improved procedure, overcoming the ‘over curled’ look of its predecessor. Whilst the chemical procedure is identical to a perm, the difference is in the results. By reinventing the old fashioned perm rollers which curled back the lashes to the extent of the ‘dolly look’, the silicone pads used for the Lash Lift procedure lifts the lash from the root in either a straight or curled, upwards fashion that creates the illusion of length and results a bright eyed enhanced look.

Does the Lash Lift procedure hurt?

No, the procedure is totally painless. You will have your eyes closed for the entire treatment and although it may feel a little strange being unable to open your eyes for this time, it offers you a chance to relax during the treatment.

Is the procedure safe?

Yes, the procedure is completely safe! The product is cream based and will not run into the eyes. There will be no lash damage if done by a qualified therapist.

How long does a lash lift take?

The procedure takes around 45-60 minutes for the lash lift, Keratin treatment and a tint.

How long will a Lash Lift last?

A Lash Lift can last 6-8 weeks but can vary from person to person. There is no need for any maintenance appointments in between but you will need to have the process repeated every 6-8 weeks to lift the new hair growth. There are some situations that may cause the lift to drop/weaken prematurely such as frequent swimming, use off harsh products or heat. If you find that your lift does not last the full 2 months, you can repeat the treatment after a minimum of 4 weeks of having the initial treatment, but not before.

Will I have a reaction to the lotion?

We have never had anyone get a reaction from the lotion, even those with sensitive eyes, but with that said, everyone is very different and we are not able to 100% guarantee that you will not get a reaction. What one person reacts to, another is fine with. This is why you can opt to have a patch test 24 hours beforehand. A patch test is quick and simple. It consists of the therapist placing 2 drops of lotions behind the ear for 15 minutes. Wiping it off and waiting to see if any subsequent irritation occurs over the next 24 hours such as redness, itching or inflammation for example.
If you have had a reaction to Lash Extensions before it does not necessarily mean that you will get a reaction to the Lash Lift, and vice versa. If you have had an allergic reaction to Lash Tint we can still do the Lash Lift and leave out the tinting process.

I wear contact lenses, can I have this procedure?

Yes. However, we will ask you to remove them temporarily during the treatment as the eyes will be closed throughout.

Can I wear makeup after my lash lift?

Yes, but it is advised that you leave your lashes untouched for at least 24 hours after your treatment. You may find that there is no need for mascara anyway, but if you wish to make your lashes even fuller, a non-waterproof mascara is advised as the removal of waterproof mascaras can be harsh on the lashes and weaken the lift.

How do I clean my eyes?

Gently, using mild products. Always wait 24 hours after the procedure to do this.

Can I use an eyelash curler?

No. There will be no need for an eyelash curler as this treatment gives a much better result than using a curler. But more importantly, using one may weaken and damage your lashes.

Does it include a Keratin treatment for my lashes?

Yes it does! We apply an advanced Keratin serum to the lashes that not only strengthens the lashes but also promotes growth.

Lash Extensions

What are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash Extensions is a practice that enhances the length, thickness and fullness to natural eyelashes. The extensions may consist of silk, mink, or synthetic hair. Methods of applying the extensions include full strips, clusters, and individual, one-by-one extensions.

At Mirror Mirror Studio we only apply individual (one-to-one) extensions. That means only 1 lash extension is applied to 1 natural lash. We never use strips or clusters as it does not look as beautiful and neat plus it could damage your natural lashes!

With individual lash extensions, your natural lashes will not be harmed.

Are there different types of Eyelash Extensions?

Yes there is! We can apply both methods of Extensions which is either a Classic Individual set or a Russian Volume set.

These can however be mixed as well to create a hybrid set. These are explained below:

- Classic Individual Eyelash Extensions:

A method where 1 lash extension is glued to 1 natural lash. This method is also known as 1 to 1 or 1:1. Classic lashes are perfect for clients who already have a lot of lashes, but want to add more length. Classic lashes look more natural.

- Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions:

While classic eyelash extensions add moderate to extreme length to your natural lashes, volume lashes are used to improve their length, curl and volume. Many clients are happy with the natural length of their eyelashes but desire a fuller look as their lashes are fine or sparse. Volume lash extensions were designed to fill in the gaps where classic eyelash extensions could not. This technique allows artists to apply multiple extensions to one individual eyelash to create a Natural or Dramatic effect that is soft and comfortable for every day wear. Each extension is extremely light and thin compared to the previous thicker options, creating a fluffy and soft appearance that is not heavy or damaging to the natural eyelash. In addition, despite the common misconception that more volume = more adhesive, these lashes require only a fraction of the glue used compared to older extension techniques. If two eyelash extensions are applied to one natural lash it’s described as 2D, if three eyelash extensions are applied to one natural eyelash then it’s described as 3D etc.

What are Eyelash Extensions made of?

The eyelashes used for eyelash extensions are made of synthetic, soft, and lush fibres with a high gloss finish.

We use high quality Silk lashes and stock them different lengths, different thicknesses, different curls. We customize the look to fit your personal preference!

Are Eyelash Extensions safe?

When applied correctly, eyelash extensions do not damage your natural lash. As a Certified lash artist, we apply to only one natural lash at a time, and will apply an extension that is the appropriate weight and length to ensure the integrity of your natural lash. We only use high quality lashes and A-grade adhesive which never come in contact with your skin. Synthetic eyelashes are adhered about 1mm away from your skin. Clients are advised to NEVER attempt to pull your eyelash extensions off yourself as this will cause damage unnecessarily. We professionally remove the outgrown lash extensions when you come for your fill and replace them or alternatively we can remove the entire set with the help of specialized product. The full removal process takes approx. 15-20 minutes and will not cause any damage.

Do Eyelash Extensions hurt?

Eyelash extensions should not hurt when applied correctly. They are applied with professional tools by isolating one lash, and adhering one extension to your natural lash for classic lashes or fans for volume lashes. We will apply under eye gel pads to prevent discomfort and aid in application. It is important to go to a trusted Lash Artist who was certified through a reputable course as this will ensure that they are applying the correct weight and length of lashes to your natural lash.

How long do they last?

Eyelash extensions last through the length of your natural hair growth cycle of each lash, which is between 60 to 100 days. Fills are recommended every 2-4 weeks to replace lashes which have fallen off due to the life cycle of natural lashes.

Do they look fake?

Eyelash extensions can be applied to look any way that you desire. We are be able to give you your desired look or very similar. You can choose to have shorter natural-looking lashes, large dramatic lashes, etc. Typically speaking, eyelash extensions don’t look fake unless that is the look that you are going for. Before the session starts we will discuss in detail the look you prefer.

Can I wear mascara on my Eyelash Extensions?

The great thing about Eyelash Extensions is that you won't need any mascara or eyeliner on the top eyelid! The Extensions are black in colour which imitates the effect of mascara. If you feel you would like to still wear mascara, it is very important to choose an oil-free version as this will not affect the bond. Waterproof mascara must be avoided.

Can I wear eye make-up with my Eyelash Extensions?

You most definitely can wear make-up with your eyelash extensions. When selecting makeup, it is beneficial to go with extension safe make-up. Extension safe makeup is oil free, usually contains sealers to prolong extension life and helps to work adjacent with your extensions for an optimal look. If you use regular make-up, it is recommended to use a daily cleanser with make-up remover that is safe for your lashes to remove residue at the end of the day. We can assist with this post your appointment.

Can I get Eyelash Extensions if my natural lashes are tinted or dyed?

Yes, it is safe to receive eyelash extensions on tinted or dyed eyelashes. However, it is not recommended to tint, dye, or perm lashes while you have eyelash extensions applied.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

You should thoroughly clean your lashes with a mild cleanser. Do not use oily makeup remover to clean your lashes prior to the application. Lashes should not be curled or permed and ALL mascara should be removed. As the service is approximately 2-3 hours long, you may bring your own music player and earphones to listen to your favourite music during the session.
